Bryan Trochessett is the owner/advisor of San Blas Capital. Born in Biloxi, Mississippi, in 1974, Bryan grew up in Ocean Springs, where he met his wife Jami. Bryan earned a BA in Mathematics at Mississippi State University in 1996. While at MSU, Bryan was active in the Wesley Foundation campus ministry and served as president of that organization his senior year. Bryan was also active in student government at MSU, having been appointed to the Student Association Judicial Board for three years.
Following their wedding in 1996, Bryan and Jami moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, where Bryan served as Program Director at a small community church and Jami worked at a boutique investment firm.
In December 1997, Bryan and Jami moved to Tallahassee where Bryan served as the Director of Youth Ministries at Trinity United Methodist Church while Jami attended graduate school at Florida State University.
After Jami finished her Master’s in Higher Education Administration, they moved to Starkville, Mississippi. During this time, Bryan earned his MBA and worked as a graduate assistant for the Director of Graduate Studies, where he served as an advisor for incoming graduate students and led selected recruiting efforts for the MBA program. Bryan was nominated for the Outstanding Service Award for graduate assistants by the Director of Graduate Studies. He also served as president/social chairman for the MBA Association.
After completing his MBA in May 2001, Bryan was given the opportunity to work with his brother on a team at a global brokerage firm in Naples, Florida. Bryan’s contributions helped earn the team its first ever Platinum service recognition in 2005, the top customer service recognition at the firm. When Bryan left in April 2006, his team was responsible for overseeing over $150 million in assets, ranging from $10,000 to over $13 million per client, and he earned that firm’s recognition as a Certified Financial Manager. During their time in Naples their family grew to include Camille and Jackson “Jack”. Bryan and Jami were also very involved with Young Life and the Collier Pregnancy Center.
After five years with the big brokerage firm, Bryan longed to explore a different way to advise and serve investors than what he experienced with a large broker-dealer. He determined that starting an independent investment advisory firm would allow him to be completely objective and transparent with clients while providing more personalized service. Bryan and Jami had also decided that they would return to Tallahassee to launch the new firm and to raise their family. Bryan created Chandeleur Investment Consulting in 2006 to work exclusively for investors and their organizations, helping them to be the best stewards of their wealth and protecting their best interests.
During their time in Tallahassee, Bryan and Jami welcomed daughters Katie Wren and Mary Claire, and son Will. While in Tallahassee, Bryan was a member of Four Oaks Community Church, where he served as a Sunday School teacher and men’s group leader. He also served as a men’s counselor at A Women’s Pregnancy Center.
In 2017, it was time to begin making plans to get back to the coast, and after considering all of North Florida, Bryan and family decided to throw their anchor out in Port St. Joe, FL, where Bryan works from his home office. During this time, the firm thought it wise to change its name to something with more of a local flare, so Chandeleur Investment Consulting changed its name to San Blas Capital.
Bryan greatly values time – time with his family, which motivated him to set up his office at home in 2006 and try to flip retirement upside down, focusing time on raising his children, which no doubt have been the most rewarding investment. Bryan enjoys spending time with his family, hanging out with Jami, watching their kids’ sporting events, fishing, and community.
